Sky Sail Balloons Inc. is pleased to exclusively offer the Haulz-All Uber Mover 300 Electric Powered, Custom Built Balloon Setup and Retrieval Cart.
THE UBER MOVER KART
We are also sales agents for the kit to allow you to build your own cart.
The Uber Mover has undergone extensive field testing by Sky Sail Balloons and Aurora Balloons in western New York and at balloon events around the country.
Top Ten reasons you may not need an Uber Mover Electric Kart.
10. Your Balloon always flies in familiar territory and always lands next to a road, if not in the trailer.
9. Your balloon is never forced to make a hard, short field landing to be close to a road.
8. There is an unlimited supply of teenagers immediately available when the balloon wants to fly.
7. You have never regretted getting a bigger balloon.
6. Your chase crew loves dragging out the bag, and the bag itself looks like the day it was made, because it's made of spider man silk.
5. You never land on a golf course where chase vehicle access is frowned upon. (Read protected against by armed guards)
4. Your chase vehicle has never left ruts in a land owner's lawn.
3. You can always contact land owners and they are never reluctant to have you drive your chase vehicle to the balloon.
2. The few times you haven't been able to contact land owners and it was too windy to walk it back to the road inflated, your crew is happy to break the system down, and carry it out piece by piece.
1. Neither the pilot or crew of your balloon is getting any older; their body is as strong as their spirit.
If you got all the way through the list and you don't see how the Uber Mover Cart could make your life easier, perhaps you might hike up your pant legs, because clearly you are living in de Nile.
I can honestly say in 5 years of chasing with our cart, we have never had a landowner who was at all reluctant to have us recover the balloon with the "Uber Cart". Landowner relations have gotten a LOT easier since we got the cart.
It makes every flight easier, and it has helped in the recovery of dozens of landings where vehicle access would have been impractical, delayed, or impossible. It has forded shallow streams, climbed hills, and we have not had a single strained back or wrenched shoulder in that time.
Most of our crew is over 50 and we have 70 & 80 year olds who continue to come out because they know they will not be asked to do any heavy lifting. One disabling injury would make the cost of the cart insignificant. Isn't it time to enjoy the fun of ballooning without all the work? The only issue we have is: who gets to drive the cart? All of our crew LOVE the cart!
Buy a custom built cart designed for your system and it will arrive fully assembled. Or you may buy the kit and/or components and design your own cart.
AN AMAZING RECOVERY
There are many recoveries I could tell you about that nearly alone would have justified the purchase of the cart, but few were as impressive as a recent flight at Fiesta in Albuquerque.
We had a remarkable flight from Fiesta Park flying an hour passing over the court house and Bank of Albuquerque tower and crossing the Rio Grande. We landed on "open space" just west of the river, confident of access by combination lock that we had been given the combination.
Unfortunately somebody forgot to tell the state about the deal. Only city open space was made accessible. The problem came in that as the morning wore on, wind speeds were increasing. We ended up lying down before it became evident how inaccessible we were, the Rio to the east, and a 6' deep drainage ditch to the west. The pilot dutifully landed within 10 feet of a road but the only access to that road was blocked by a steel gate.
Enter Uber Cart! It easily rolled the .64 miles to the landing site. We were not certain it would make the trip twice it was acting kinda tired. Upon review it has been over two years since the rechargeable batteries had been replaced. So we loaded her up, (normally it halls basket separate from the envelope, this day however, we threw the envelope in the basket, along with the burners, the uprights, and the squeezer. The cart made it out with a little help through soft fine sand. We toasted the decision to buy the cart some five years ago. It was not the first time the cart was toasted, and it probably won't be the last.
OPTION #1: Sky Sail Uber Mover Kart
Complete assembled cart with Dually Agg Tires & customized plywood deck and rails.
Custom Built fully assembled and tested four wheel cart.
The Sky Sail Uber Mover Cart is built on a modified Haulz-All UMK300 Chassis. (Detailed below) the base price includes a plywood deck with reinforcing rails on all sides. The rail on the front side is on the underside so as not to be an obstacle and to ease loading and unloading.
The cart can easily handle baskets designed for up to those designed to fly under a 140. If used on level terrain potentially larger baskets can be accommodated. The cart can be made with a rectangular or triangular deck. For larger baskets we recommend a UHMW veneer over the plywood, for a moderate up charge, to ease the positioning of the basket on the cart. The base price includes decks built for up to 125 thousand cubic foot systems.
Although a tilt deck option is available, we do not recommend it for balloon carts. The cart itself can be tilted to achieve the dump feature. Here is a short video clip to help you appreciate this.
Batteries are 12v sealed cell batteries commonly used on Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS). They are lead acid chemistry with, a gel cell format. They are readily available online or at stores that offer UPSs. There is a Phantom draw on the batteries that require them to be on a charger when not in use. We have rigged a pass through in the wall of the trailer, with a socket outside and outlet inside. We just plug in the trailer nightly. A Charge normally handles two daily flights easily and may last a weekend rally, if the batteries are new. It is best to plan to plug in nightly.
If your balloon is larger than 125,000, please contact us for a system quote. We have Industrial Strength options that have been field tested in the oil drilling industry. We can accommodate any size balloon.
OPTION #2: (Long) UMK300
Cart Base Kit (wheels electronics and frame) Note: this frame is longer than the stock frame that appears on the Haulz-all web site hence the price difference
Build-A-Hauler four wheel kit.
The Haulz-All UMK300 is the most versatile motorizing kit available. The long version of that cart is custom built for the Balloon Industry. It is the Mack Truck of powered carts - we provide a complete integrated drive system on a steel chassis, and you provide what goes on top. It can be as plain as a piece of plywood, or as elaborate as a sculpted giant crocodile head. It is tough and sturdy, and can carry up to 650 pounds on a hard level surface, and 450 pounds up a 2:1 grade. The 300 kit is not only attractive to handy home owners, but is especially useful for OEMS as a cost effective prototype. All of the great features of our complete machines are included - regenerative braking, electromechanical park brake, manual release, sealed lead acid batteries, smart charger etc.
The UMK300 is shipped about 90 percent assembled via UPS. Assembly requires no special tools, and usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. No soldering, wiring, or cutting is required. Just bolt on the handle bars, assemble the 4 wheels onto the axles, and connect the plugs, and you're up and running. Add your own attachment, and you have your own customized powered hauler. The manual dumping feature allows easy dumping of the attachment you add. If you really want the ultimate, add optional dually tires and the power lift actuator for automatic dumping.
The silent, maintenance-free sealed transaxle has an open differential that allows the wheels to spin at different speeds making turning effortless. The rear swivel casters and heavy duty steel handle bars allow easy operation. And since it is totally electric, the UMK300 can be operated inside the warehouse or outside in the garden. It has a top speed of 3.0 mph in both forward and reverse. However, as with all Haulz-All products, the throttle is variable, so you can travel as fast as comfortable.
Option 2A: Recommended Alternate Feature
Dually chevron agriculture turf tires
OPTION #3: UMK200-18
Drive only kit, design your own cart from scratch
Build-a-Hauler double wheel kit.
The Haulz-All UMK200 is a cost effective motorizing kit that provides impressive performance. Designed to be easily installed on just about any conventional wheelbarrow, the power retrofit kit will transform your un-powered wheelbarrow or cart into productivity-enhancing, money making hauler. However, the integrated drive system is an excellent solution for OEM's that are looking for a proven, turn key method of motorizing their particular device. The motorizing system provides enough power to move up to 650 pounds on a hard level surface, and 450 pounds up a 2:1 grade (if a more complete solution is desired, see UMK300). No special tools are necessary, and installation typically takes only 1 hour. All of the great features of our complete machines are included - regenerative braking, electromechanical park brake, manual release, sealed lead acid batteries, smart charger etc.
The UMK200 is the mid-range motorizing kit. It is shipped as separate components (as opposed to the UMK300 which is a more complete assembly) that are designed to be easily bolted to your existing wheelbarrow or cart. No soldering, wiring or cutting is required. Just bolt it on, connect the plugs and you are easily hauling heavier loads than you could ever haul before. Since the wheelbarrow or cart is not supplied by Haulz-All, shipping costs are much less.
The silent, maintenance-free sealed transaxle has an open differential that allows the wheels to spin at different speeds making turning effortless. The UMK200 provides a top speed of 3.0 mph in both forward and reverse. However, as with all Haulz-All products, the throttle is variable, so you can travel as fast as comfortable. All of the components are splash-proof, so operation in the rain is not a problem.
